Something Is Brewing

I'm not talking about Halloween.

Let's be very real, here.

If Washington doesn't stop acting like an all powerful collective dictatorship, we are about to have a very serious situation on our hands.
Its all ready serious, but I'm talking "taking up arms" serious.  Not in a threat to any individual, but in a collective get rid of our government way.  I'm not advocating anything particular, I'm just reading the tea leaves, and let me tell you, they are sending a very powerful message.

Don't believe me, then you aren't watching the signs.
I actually started writing this blog last night.  Low and behold, a woman tried to ram the white house and Capitol building today.  We don't know anything yet, but my guess is she was mad.  Really, really mad.

I have heard big time radio guys talk about what's about to happen, and make serious promises in regard to what their responses will be if Washington takes certain actions.

People are mad.  People are fighting mad.  They are ready for an all out brawl.

Our government has taken to pushing people to extremes by doing things that have finally pushed us all over the edge.  Things that make no sense to anyone.  Things that aren't trying to pretend to be based on common decency.
I am totally flabbergasted that during this whole shutdown, the WIC program is going to lose funding, and children will actually be going hungry, but Camp David keeps its full staff and is being totally maintained, just in cased the Prez needs to go take a quick vacay.
That makes me want to vomit.

Sometime in the last 50 years, we handed over the reigns of this nation to a bunch of fat cats, and we just gave up.  We have collectively let them do whatever the hell they want to do, and left ourselves, at least mentally, powerless.
I wasn't raised like this.  My dad was honestly in our elected Representatives office on a regular basis.  He was escorted out twice.  See, that is how I was raised.  I believe its about time I started following in my father's footsteps, too.  Its about time for us to get up off the computer, and go down to ask our elected officials some questions in person.  Maybe then they will finally hear us.

What's All The Fuss?

Sheez.
I went to bed last night, and woke up to all this fuss about our national government shutdown.
What's all the hubbub, bub?
I mean, the sun is still trying to peak through our very normally grey skies, here.
The birds were still making a huge raucous outside my bathroom window while I took a shower with plenty of hot water.  I then hopped in my gigantic SUV and headed at least part of my brood off to school, which as far as I could tell from the drop off lane seemed perfectly normal.
So, again, why is everyone so worried.  Life seems totally normal from here.

Unless, of course, you happen to be one of the thousands of government workers who aren't "Essential personnel" and are home from work today.  They get a free day, or more depending on how long it takes our ever conscientious Congress to act, off.  By free, I mean they won't be getting paid.
So, yeah.
They might be a little upset about the possibility of not being able to pay their bills, losing their homes, etc.  That could suck.
Then there are also all the people who were planning on visiting national parks, museums, etc.  Schools, too, who had field trips planned.  They won't be doing that.  I hope all those teachers have some great pictures of the things in the Smithsonian, because they certainly won't be taking their classes.

So, yeah, that might suck, too.

Wait.  What?  You mean when this is all said and done, it is actually going to cost us money to recover from the shutdown some how?  Seriously?  So, even though we aren't spending money, were also losing money in this whole thing??
What kind of scam is this?

Not only have we taken yet another major black eye in the world's opinion of us, but people are going to struggle with smaller or no paychecks at all, and our over all economy will suffer even more.  This whole thing over a few guys who are having a serious pissing contest to show us who is the bigger and badder of the two parties.

Wrong move, Congress.  Wrong move.

Instead of working together, you have just cost the American people more than we care to pay. Not only have you lost touch with the spirit of America, but you totally fail to see what is most important to us. We don't care about you battle of wills.  There is no winner here, we are all losers thanks to you and losers you should all be come election time.

I think it's about time we started to seriously adopt the slogan "Re Elect Nobody" for the next election.

Perhaps that would grab the attention of those of you who have chosen to make politics your life long career, even though you can't seem to remember the people who put you in office.  You have failed yet again to do your job successfully.  If anyone of us performed our job like you do, we would all be fired, and you should be held to the same standard.  None of you are better than any of us.  Frankly, I'm over the whole us and them thing, anyway.

We are one nation, act like it.

Maybe then you can think about what is truly most important to the whole of America.  Maybe then we can start moving in the right direction again.
I'm really looking forward to the next set of elections.  I hope Congress is, too.

Why Another One

For those of you that know me, you might know that I have a propensity for starting blogs.  Starting, but not always posting.  I have my reasons.
I love my Mommy Blog, but lets be honest, that is for telling you about the millionth time my oldest walks into a pole and knocks herself out, or about how adorable my littlest one in, when she is sleeping, or maybe even about how my middle one, the tank, managed to take a full on tumbling roll across the playground, scratching up every part of her body she possible could as she careened by a tree, and got up to keep on going.
However, I don't feel like you want to hear me tell you how much the government sucks there, and let me assure you I want to proclaim that every single freaking day, and with lots of curse words.  So, I felt it better that I start a different blog about that side of me.  This is not the place for leaky boobs and diaper changing discussions, unless of course were talking about what a bunch of boobs Congress is who happen to all need their diapers changed.  This is the place for political discourse, of sorts, filled with lots of adult lingo and things my children probably shouldn't read as they are learning about our government at school.  Some of it, though, may be very appropriate for a bathroom wall.  After all, I happen to think most of Congress of full of poo....and totally bathroom appropriate.

So, come on in, pull up a virtual cup of coffee, or even better yet a real one, maybe a newspaper article, perhaps even a story from The Onion if we want to start the day off with a laugh, and prepare to let it all fly, when it comes to the political rantiest place of all, my newest blog.
